Popular CitiesWhere are you planning to move to?
One of the most multi-cultural countries in the world, the United States of America is a popular destination for many expatriates due to the comfortable lifestyle and stable economic climate that the US provides.
With a relatively low cost of living, many expats moving to the States find a relatively comfortable and stable lifestyle, with real estate prices relatively low when compared to other developed countries. However, like many developed countries the cost of living does depend on the area of the country you are moving to, with the cost of living in the bigger cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Boston significantly higher than in some of the more rural areas of the country. Nevertheless, expatriates who are willing to relocate outside the major cities will find that they can get a lot for their money property-wise.
Overall, the USA is an excellent place to base yourself as an expat. There is an abundance of attractions to keep you occupied and you will gain invaluable life and work experience if you spend time as an expat living in America. Healthcare in the US, however, is privatized and can be very expensive, so it is important to ensure that you have full and comprehensive medical insurance as you may be refused treatment without it.
As with such a large landmass, the weather in the US is experiences very different weather patterns depending on which part of the country you choose to make home. Much of the eastern coast states have weather similar to the UK, whilst in the southern states they experience hot, muggy temperatures with little rain while those states and cities further north have a much more temperate climate with four distinct seasons.
